Vaidisova was brushed aside by Jelena Jankovic in a 6-3, 7-5 Quarter-final encounter in the French Open 2007.
Jankovic made a miserly eight unforced errors compared to Vaidisova’s twenty to take out the first set.
The Serbian Jankovic went ahead 4-3 in the second set before Vaidisova saved a match point by breaking back to 5-5. Jankovic restored the lead to 6-5 before closing out the set with 7-5 in which Vaidisova saved three match points before netting a forehand to hand Jankovic victory.

Serena Williams lost the much anticipated quarterfinal against Justine Henin in a 6-4, 6-3 match.
The strangely subdued performance by the 2002 champion Williams, kept the crowd, which had booed her mercilessly in the 2003 semi-final, relatively quiet except when they booed her for a petulant smash of her racket but it seemed like a token gesture.

No. 3 seed Kuznetsova was dispatched 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 in the French Open quarter-final by No. 7 seed Ana Ivanovic.
Kuznetsova overcame her nerves and abdominal pain in the second set but a hard serve in the set aggravated her pulled abdominal muscles and she quickly succumbed in the third set.

Tenth seed Dinara Safina reached round 4 of the French Open 2007 but came up short and was overwhelmed 6-2, 6-3 by former World number one Serena Williams.
Eighth seed Williams took 36 minutes for the first set and while Safina put up more resistance in the second set Williams was too powerful. 2002 Champion Williams had the game wrapped up in 77 minutes.

Ana Ivanovic soared into the French Open Final with a crushing 6-2 6-1 victory over World No. 2 Maria Sharapova. The semi-final match took only 65 minutes.
Ivanovic thought the game would be much closer because Sharapova is an aggressive player who likes to dominate with her strong ground strokes and serve. However, Ivanovic, seeded seventh, neutralized World No. 2 Maria Sharapova’s power and kept her on the run.
