Serbian Stunner Ana Ivanovic Wins Los Angeles Open
Ana Ivanovic, inspired by her childhood friend Novak Djokovic’s march to victory - including the final win over Roger Federer - in the Rogers Cup tournament in Montreal, rose to beat Nadia Petrova 7-5, 6-4 and win the Tier II East West Bank Classic in Los Angeles, California.
It was Ana Ivanovic’s second tournament win in 2007 and she earned $88,260 for the victory and it helps to place her fourth on the YTD WTA money list at $1,469,530 after her final at Roland Garros and a semi-final at Wimbledon.
Ivanovic and Djokovic has been good friends since they met as 4-year-olds in the Belgrade restaurant of Djokovic’s parents.
Ana Ivanovic will be looking to continue her form in 2007 with back to back wins in the Rogers Cup tournament in Toronto, Canada after winning it in her maiden tournament win of 2006.
