Andy Roddick is in a face off with 6-foot-9 Giant John Isner in the Washington Final
Andy Roddick faces 6 foot 9 inch John Isner in an All-American Washington final of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic tournament.
Reaching the Washington final means Andy Roddick will be leading the US Open Series Lever 2000 Challenge and will be eligible for bonus money depending on how he goes in the US Open. Roddick has won the US Open Series Lever 2000 Challenge in 2005 and 2006 so will be happy to win for the third successive year. Last year Roddick got a bonus of $500,000 for being a finalist in the US Open.
John Isner as a wild card entry has played well in reaching the final of his second ATP event. Isner defeated three seeds in his march to the final: No. 8 Benjamin Becker, No. 2 Tommy Haas and No. 9 Gael Monfils. The world No. 416 is the second-lowest ranked player this year to reach an ATP final. In reaching the final Isner has gained points for the US Open Series Lever 2000 Challenge but will not be one of the first three placed in the series.
