Lleyton Hewitt gets whooped by Roger Federer at the Rogers Cup Montreal Masters
Lleyton Hewitt is a small man with big ambition. Top seeded and defending champion of the Montreal Masters, Roger Federer, put a dent in Lleyton Hewitts plan to get back to number one with two sets win.
Lleyton’s hopes rest on Tony Roche and the alliance they formed to get Hewitt back to the top but so far its a struggle.
Pat Rafter has scoffed at Lleyton Hewitt’s ambitions although conceded its possible for Hewitt to get back into the top 5. Rafter says Hewitt lacks the size to compete against the likes of Federer and other power players.
And Roger Federer emphatically just proved Pat Rafters point.
Here’s what Radek Stepanek had to say about Roger Federer:
“You know you’re playing against one of the best players in the history of the game, but once you step on the court, he’s an opponent like anybody else,” he said. “You have to try your best to beat him.”
Roger Federer will play Radek Stepanek in the Semi’s.
