Maria Sharapova coming back from her chronic shoulder injury set to defend San Diego Acura Classic Title
Maria Sharapova is set to test her long-standing shoulder injury again while defending the Tier 1 WTA Tour and the U.S. Open series 2007 Acura Classic.
Maria has carried the shoulder injury since spring and needed pain-killing injections to enable her to reach the 2007 French Open semi-finals and the fourth-round of the 2007 Wimbledon where she lost to Venus Williams.
Despite the continuing problems with her shoulder Maria Sharapova looked good in a 6-1, 6-3 disposing of Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand.
She will want to build form to help her prepare for her defence of the US Open title.
