Venus William's begins Acura Classic 2007 With Rock Solid Performance
2007 Wimbledon champion Venus Williams continued her recent injury-free form to beat Virginie Razzano of France 6-2 6-4 in a tough workout at the 2007 Acura Classic in San Diego.
Venus Williams played her typically aggressive, power game that makes her the favourite to win the tournament. Although Virginie Razzano tried to match Venus Williams game she lacked accuracy.
“I made some errors, but played very aggressive and she played really well,” Williams told reporters.
“She didn’t give me any points and was trying with all her heart.”
Venus will play sixth seed Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia in the third round.
